I am based in Riverton NJ. Pictures can be taken at an outside location, or in the comfort of your own home. (A traveling fee may be applied to session depending on the location.)
We will want to shoot early in the morning shortly after sunrise, or late in the evening before sunset. These are the best times for lighting. (Of course naps are mandatory in most homes, we can work around that and shoot in a shaded spot)
Single child shoots start at $295, lets chat about what you might need in terms of ideal coverage for other shoots
All shoots/weddings include the digital edited files with printing rights (there is no set limit on how many you will receive for the finished product) I tend to get carried away and like the images from the shoot to portray a story. So someone who was not at the shoot could still get a feel as if they were at the shoot by looking at the images. From the simple shots of baby toes, to not missing the little hair bow on a child. The smallest details are important to me.
What's most important to me is making sure you feel comfortable being yourself when we're working together.
I believe there is a significant different between posing a photograph versus capturing a moment, you'll receive both types of shots.
I believe that the most powerful images come from the most simple moments.
I believe its my job to capture that fragility.
Lets shoot somewhere special to you both, even as simple as shooting in your own home and yard. Bring your favorite bottle or wine, lets set up a picnic in the middle of no where, or just get ice cream. Lets do something thats unique to you both.
Book your maternity shoot when you find out you are pregnant, as dates do fill up quickly. Plan your maternity shoot for when you are between 7-8 months pregnant. You want to plan for that window of time where your belly is nice and rounded. You want your belly to be clearly showing but you still want to feel comfortable during the session. Any earlier, the belly may not be prominent enough and any later you run the risk of delivering early. Each and every woman is different though, so listen to your body.
The best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 2 weeks after birth, preferably within the first couple of days. After a certain time period it becomes harder to pose them in unique ways and they will not get that peaceful sleeping look. Don't stress, each and every baby is different though. I have had shoots with babes 1 week old that have not been happy campers, and babes 5 weeks old who slept the entire shoot.
So lets be real if its not realistic to shoot 2 weeks after you have given birth. Sometimes its best to soak up the first early days where you forget to brush your teeth, you don't change out of the same clothes for a few days that are covered in spit up and you bond with your newest addition. Those moments are just a blink of an eye.
